Aletha shares her experience with the PIR treatment
“I didn’t know insulin was such a vital part of your overall well-being. My muscles have gotten better, my vision has gotten better… my migraines (too).
I’ve sat in the Infusion Clinic for a year and a half, and watched lots of people. The stories that I’ve heard from them and the miracles that I’ve seen!”

AFTER NINE YEARS IN HOSPITAL LOBBY, CCMC PHARMACY HOPES TO EXPAND
Comanche County Medical Center (CCMC) operates a nonprofit, full service, retail pharmacy to serve Comanche County and surrounding communities. Located in the hospital lobby, the CCMC Pharmacy is smaller than most “tiny houses” with only 115 sq. ft. in which to work. Rent for the space is paid to Comanche County Consolidated Hospital District (CCCHD) which owns the hospital building. The little pharmacy opened in the summer of 2014, when then CEO Jim Christensen, stated in a July article in The Comanche Chief, “Everyone is excited about setting the date for opening our new public retail pharmacy within the hospital and…meeting strategic goals of delivering more patient-centered services.” He added the pharmacy was to “support accessibility.” The article said CCMC leadership wanted to ensure a one-stop location for patients, staff, and people in the area. In the nine years since, the pharmacy has added new and better services, such as compounding and the specialty pharmacy, created new pharmacy jobs, and has grown revenues to help support the sustainability of the health system — all in the same tiny space in the lobby of the hospital.

CCMC CEO DR. TROXELL’S HEALTH SYSTEM UPDATE
Due to national media describing the prevalence of financial hardships among rural hospitals across the country, I want to give you a retrospective and update on the CCMC health system. It’s been reported that 646 rural hospitals across the country are in danger of closing with 293 of them in immediate jeopardy; nearly half of rural hospitals in the Midwest are in financial danger. Thankfully, this is not the case with our health system, and in fact, we are flourishing!
As reported to our Boards in May, our health system is operating at levels heretofore never achieved. We are setting records for growth, profitability, and fundraising. Despite the impacts of the three-year global pandemic, we have seen a 250% growth in business! Last year was our best year ever, 2023 is projected to surpass it. Looking to 2024, we anticipate a minimum growth rate of 10%, and will add more patients each year. We have enjoyed public and private support, and have raised new grants and gifts in excess of $2M. Because we are operating from a position of strength, we can do more for our communities, including expand needed services, extend healthcare access, and improve health outcomes.
